From the refreshment stop of Fleckweide the route leads you into the Seidlwinkl Valley where the destination will be the 500-year-old Tauern House, after walking past alpine chalets and pastures. It was the path formerly used by the so called “Saeumer” alpine merchants crossing the Alps with their goods, later pilgrims and today it’s the hikers who have come to walk in the beautiful Seidwinkl Valley from around the globe. Discover nimble ibex, clear mountain brooks and wonderful alpine meadows. After a rest at the Tauernhaus either walk or take the national park taxi back to Rauris. Krumml Valley, the valley of the vultures
From the Lechnerhausl chalet you can hike into the romantic Kruml Valley. In 1986 this lovely high valley was selected for the reintroduction of the bearded vulture in the Alps. Now you can see these impressive creatures and other related species, including the Eurasian griffon vulture and the white headed vulture.
