The history of Hotel Rauriserhof in the National Park Hohe Tauern
Almost 55 years ago Katharina and Jakob Riesslegger set the corner stone for their hotel in Rauris in one of the most beautiful spots in the province of Salzburg.
In 1954 Katharina and Jakob Riesslegger took in their first guests. Some of the construction workers stayed in their former home residence. The innkeeper’s daughter and the local haulier decided to let their joint dream of their own hotel in Rauris become reality. Two years later the couple Riesslegger welcomed their guests on a regular basis at their bed and breakfast. Katharina and Jacob brought many more ideas to life, since they wanted to offer their guests as varied and rich an experience as possible. The Bed and Breakfast was then added with a café, where dance nights and live music were held. In 1969 Katharina and Jacob were the first hotel owners of an indoor pool and their own bowling alley.

It seems, as if the Riesslegger-Mayr family was always one step ahead, when it comes to offering their guests something special. In 1971 Hildegard Riesslegger and Ferdinand Mayr took over the Rauriserhof and reached for the stars: with 4 stars from the hotel rating sky. The hotel was redesigned and added with a Vitality Oasis. Unchanged to this day however is the warm hospitality, with which the guests at the Rauriserhof are greeted.
