After an active day in the mountain air, water is the most beautiful transition into the evening for many of our guests. We experience this daily, and that is precisely why we designed our BergSpa at the Rauriserhof to ensure that the nature outside always remains part of the experience. Large glass windows offer unobstructed views of the peaks of the Goldberggruppe and the Hohe Tauern National Park, so you never lose the feeling of being right in the middle of the Rauris Valley while swimming or unwinding. As the Rießlegger-Mayr family, we are already running the Rauriserhof in its third generation – the wellness area is one of our core highlights, and one in which we have invested heavily over recent years.
Panorama Indoor Pool with Mountain Views – Around 30 °C Year-Round
Our indoor pool measures 8 x 15 meters, making it exceptionally spacious for a hotel swimming pool. You have plenty of room to swim laps in peace, and even during peak season, it rarely feels crowded by the water's edge. We maintain the water temperature at around 30 °C year-round, which noticeably relaxes the muscles after a day of hiking or ski touring. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the view extends directly into the valley and to the surrounding mountain peaks.
The indoor pool is open daily from 07:00 to 22:00. This makes it easy to swim your first laps before breakfast or to end the day in complete tranquility in the evening when most guests are already enjoying dinner.
Our outdoor pool is one of the features that our regular guests connect most strongly with the Rauriserhof. It is open all year round and takes on a completely different character depending on the season.
Summer in the Outdoor Pool (May to October)
From May to October, the water is heated to a comfortable 28 to 30 °C – providing the ideal cooldown after a hiking tour into the Krumltal or a trail running session towards the Seidlwinkltal. Surrounding the pool is a beautifully landscaped sunbathing lawn with sunny and shaded spots, where you can easily spend half a day with a book and views of the Hohe Tauern. In summer, the outdoor pool is open from 07:00 to 20:00.
Winter in the Outdoor Pool (December to April)
In winter, we raise the temperature to 32 °C. The contrast between the crisp mountain air and the warm water is exactly why many guests pack their swimwear even in February and March. Swimming in the warm pool while snow is falling, with a steaming water surface and views of the snow-covered mountains around Rauris, is one of those moments you won't quickly forget. In winter, the outdoor pool is open in the morning from 07:00 to 09:00 and in the afternoon from 15:00 to 19:00.
The Rauriserhof has always been a family-run house, and we design our wellness area to reflect that. In the spacious indoor pool, children have plenty of room to swim and play, while parents can truly unwind in the relaxation areas. In summer, family life shifts outside to the sunbathing lawn by the outdoor pool – the layout of the area is so clear that you can always keep an eye on the children right from your lounger.
Whirlpool, Sauna Area, Fitness Room, and Aqua Fit
In addition to the two pools, the BergSpa features a whirlpool and a versatile sauna landscape with various saunas and steam baths. It is just the right thing to boost your circulation after swimming or a hiking tour and then wind down in one of the relaxation rooms. Those looking to stay active can use our in-house fitness room or join our guided vitality programs, which include Aqua Fit sessions in the indoor pool.
After the Water: Culinary Delights with our ¾-Gourmet Pension
In the evening, the wellness experience continues in our restaurant. As part of our ¾-Gourmet Pension (half board plus) – featuring a rich breakfast buffet with a live cooking station, a small afternoon snack, and dinner – Chef Alexander Biechl and his team prepare a creative 5-course menu every single evening. Many guests come straight from the outdoor pool to the dinner table, and that is exactly how we like it.
